Glass Sand Corp Plans Dam Project in Gore Area
The Virginia Glass Sand Corporation of Winchester plans an immediate dam at its Gore plant about 13 miles west. The reservoir will hold 4 to 5 million gallons and bids are due August 15 after inspecting plans at 417 North Cameron street. The project could employ 40 to 50 workers and boost payroll. the plant has mined and shipped sand to glass manufacturers along the Atlantic Seaboard since starting at Gore two years ago, aiding local labor after a past fire.
