A border flood in Nogales on August 1 caused four deaths and dozens missing as 3 to 8 feet of water swept through Nogales Mexico and Nogales Arizona. Power lines fell, phones failed, and police said numbers could rise amid widespread confusion.
Manuel Herrick former Oklahoma congressman was arraigned on liquor still charges in Maryland. Prohibition agents said a large still and mash were found and noted he posed as a Department of Justice agent, a claim he denied. Bail was set at 2500 dollars with co defendants at 1500 each.
An old advertisement proclaims B. and C. Bread 100 percent pure made with the best ingredients. The copy calls it the most popular bread in the city and notes its low price.
The last will of Mrs. Margaret Cecelia Strother widow of Rev. Frank A. Strother of the Baltimore Conference is probated. Trusts for Green Hill Cemetery and a residuary bequest to the Home for the Aged and Orphans are noted across codicils dated after the original June 12 1922 document. M. M. Lynch named executor with $9 000 bond.

Traders note renewed call money at 2 1 2% and a softer undertone suggesting month end firmness fading. A sale by Mrs. Alice Hayslett of Brucetown Virginia is noted for August 9 at 1 pm.

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Winchester appeals to all towns and counties to place daily water receptacles for birds dogs and cats. With streams dried up animals suffer from thirst and rabies-like frenzies. Set out accessible containers in yards or sidewalks and keep them filled. Boy Scouts may adopt this humane daily practice.

Mr William Sargeant and Miss Mildred Gardiner were married in Cumberland Maryland on Saturday afternoon after traveling from Whitacre. They obtained a marriage license in Hagerstown and have since been on a wedding trip in Pennsylvania. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs F J Gardiner of near Whitacre.
