Failroads Hit By High Water
After heavy rain and a cloudburst between Woodstock and Marertown a bench trestle washed out, halting Baltimore and Ohio Rail Road traffic. Passengers were transferred, a new bridge is under construction and trains expected to run normally by Monday. A Shenandoah Special and others were delayed, with a Southern train crossing minutes before the washout. Water levels overwhelmed the new concrete turnpike bridge as the stream rose over its top rail.
