Egyptian and Libyan leaders announced plans to unite their neighboring states with a target date of September 1, 1973. A joint communique was broadcast outlining the accord and potential steps toward merger.
Front Royal sees industrial growth as Pullman Coach announces a 50 000 foot annex to the Silk Mill Building on Sixth Street. A shooting at the Oak Grove Inn on Rt. 11 near Clearbrook left Mrs. Evelyn McKay with gunshot wounds to the chest and arm and she is in satisfactory condition at Winchester Memorial Hospital ICU. Marie Crowder was arraigned in Frederick County Court on maiming charges and is jailed on a 5000 dollar bond. Virginia State Trooper J S Conner and Deputy M A Owens investigated. The incident occurred at 11:55 p.m. last night and Crowder faces maiming charges.
