Casablanca August 2 An airplane carrying Commander Pedro Canga and mechanic Alfredo Icaca of the Peruvian air force crashed near Azemmour Morocco during a Trans Atlantic attempt from Rome to Lima. Radio operator Luis Vilanaev a was injured. Officials opened an investigation as rescue teams recovered the two bodies from the wreckage.

Clarke County District Races Highlight Supervisor and Committee Picks
Clarke county voters focused on supervisor races and Democratic Executive committee selections. In Greenway, Edward B. Lee won 241 to 120, carried White Post, and Funkhouser, Dearmont and Mitchell edged to the Democratic committee. Long Marsh saw J M Fishpaw prevail 227 to 152, with Moore, Dorsey and Hardesty named to the committee. Battletown had no contest with Galloway, George, and Wray approved. Chapel district elected no supervisor challengers and chose Carper, Burwell and Gilpin for the committee while Strode lost a committee bid.
