Court strikes down Virginia poll tax certificate rule
The U S Supreme Court ruled unanimously that Virginia may not require a certificate of residence or poll tax payment to vote in federal elections. The decision, delivered by Chief Justice Earl Warren, holds the 24th Amendment bars any poll tax condition for federal eligibility. Rock-Throwing Follows Slaying of Negro Youth

U S Air Force Hits Bai Duc Thon Bridge in North Vietnam
