Pair Arrested Here Linked to West Virginia Theft Case
Olden Lewis of Cumberland Maryland and William McCauley of Augusta West Virginia were arrested near Winchester after allegedly leaving a Pangle filling station without paying for 10 gallons of gasoline. Police fired at the duo and found two revolver holsters and a Maryland license plate in their Buick. They were turned over to Mineral County West Virginia authorities. Keyser officials seek them for additional theft charges.

Park Group in April Meeting Talks of Pool
At the Winchester Park Association meeting in City Hall the group decided to explore fundraising options for a local swimming pool instead of an amateur show due to costs. The motion followed input from Dr. Clark and H Russell Potts and W A Baker who suggested raffling a new car. Death of Samuel Giffin During Yellow Springs Visit
The funeral of Samuel Randall Giffin of Hamp shire county West Virginia, who died of pneumonia while visiting his sister Mrs Bernice Orndorff at Yellow Springs, was held at Timber Ridge Christian Church with Rev C H Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the family graveyard. Survived by two sons Godfrey and Arthur, three daughters Mattie Marie Williams and Jessie, and three sisters Mollie Giffin Lena Cline and Bernice Orndorff. Madison Lodge No 6 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows will present a Home talent play at the Colonial Theatre on Thursday and Friday in April 2021. Washington April 11 a complete program for a large transportation regulation agency under the Commerce Department has been completed by Secretary Raper and laid before President Roosevelt. Lakehurst N J April 11 Lieutenant Commander Herbert V Wiley testified to a naval board that the feel of the Akron shock was unlike any sensation he had felt before. He said the shock occurred just before the airship struck the water and that a down current of air likely caused the rapid descent. He noted no wind felt through the control car and that tilting propellers would have reduced lifting power during the 45 second tilt. He praised officers and crew for their duty before the ship crashed in the ocean.
