Welsh Is Given Year in Prison for an Assault
After deliberating over two hours the Frederick County Circuit Court found Charles Welsh of Middletown guilty of felonious assault on T J McInturff and sentenced him to one year in the Virginia state penitentiary. The trial followed an incident December 30 when McInturff fired at Welsh as Welsh allegedly stole gasoline from McInturff's car. Welsh fired back, with bloodstains found near the vehicle. The case proceeded Saturday and resumed today, with defense by Harry R Kern and Floyd M Brill, and Commonwealth Attorney Burr P Harrison presenting the prosecution.
