State police identify escapees as Charles Jackson 23 sentenced to three years for statutory burglary and Raymond Harris 23 who was jailed for unauthorized use of a vehicle. They fled from a work detail south of the Opequon Bridge around 1:15 p.m. yesterday as a search by police, guards, and a sheriff's office spread. A stolen gold 1963 Mercury Comet was later found with evidence of hot wiring. Descriptions list Jackson 5 ft 11, 163 pounds, dark skin. Harris 5 ft 9, 140 pounds, light skin.

Windber band to perform at Festival Breakfast on May 2
The Windber Area Senior High School band of 166 members accepted an invite from Sports Breakfast chairs to play at the Festival event Friday May 2 at 9 a.m. at Lees Jackson restaurant.
