Lucy the Brahman Cow Finds Freedom Beyond the Fence
Two or three days after being moved to a new pasture Lucy vanished from the pen. Neighbors witnessed her walking the fence line seeking gaps. She slipped onto the deer block side near Deer Creek Nursing Home and refused to return. Her keeper used Easy the horse to coax her back, then closed the gap but Lucy jumped again. Ultimately Lucy lingered in a coastal Bermuda field with Easy nearby, beyond the ranch boundaries.

Community repairs and Bullockville thefts loom over holiday display
Keep Wimberley Beautiful volunteers mend bridge decorations after Cypress Creek damage while the Bullock family reports the theft of a five and a half foot Barney likeness from Bullockville on FM 2325. A Halloween scarecrow was also stolen and Hill Country Natural Foods was vandalized last year. No Christmas display this year, with plans to decide next year. Authorities urge reporting to help catch perpetrators.

Attack near Valley Ridge Road ends with arrest
A 41-year-old jogger was attacked from behind along Valley Ridge Road at 5:45 a.m. on March 30. She fought back with hand weights, escaping with minor injuries, then alerted authorities. Police arrested Chestnut at 9:15 a.m. at a home near County Road 220 based on victim description and evidence.
