The Texan Stars dance team from Wimberley High School will host a Sunday car wash starting at 1 p.m. in McCracklin Realty's parking lot. Donations support their attendance at a summer camp.
Hays County Commissioners Court met with Environmental Health Director Allen Walthers to discuss a U S Fish and Wildlife Service proposal to add the Barton Springs Salamander to the Endangered Species List. Patrick Cox of Barton Springs Edwards Aquifer Conservation District and others provided guidance for the hearing set for June 16 in Austin.
Wimberley seniors danced at the Senior Prom themed An Evening of Elegance on the 11th floor of the J C Kellam Building. The junior class hosted with 1 000 balloons and decor as seniors voted on favorites including Lydia Fass Kyle Cooper Danielle Hudspeth and Heather Harrison.
TSA members from Wimberley and Ozona are boosting a fund for the National Technology Students Association Conference in Orlando. They have raised about $4,600 of a $10,000 goal through car washes bake sales calendars and donations and continue to accept gifts at Ozona Bank under TSA Boosters.
Sharon Poston of Wimberley was in fair condition at Brackenridge Hospital after a one car crash on Ranch Road 12 near the VFW grounds Wednesday evening. The DPS report says she ran off the road at a curve, hit an embankment, went airborne about 40 feet, and flipped, coming to rest on its tires. Poston wore a seat belt and was transported by Star Flight for head injuries after EMS treated her at the scene.
