Letters On Cruelty Charges And Critical View Of Priorities
In London the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals charged two men over a pet rat and a three day absence from caring for tropical fish. The writer questions these priorities amid global hunger and cites personal anecdotes of pets to argue for focusing on human suffering rather than animal fines. The piece also notes a shark attack near Australia and jokes about the society’s stance and the shark’s perspective.
