Hamlet summer workshop faces heat and praise in Texas
Community volunteers and students work through a sweltering Texas summer to build and paint a Shakespeare set directed by Gary Wyatt. Queen Gertrude actresses Stacey Conner and Amber Thompson discuss the experience while Hamlet’s Brian Williams and Emily Davis describe the costumes as heavy and theatrical. The effort aims to reuse the set for future performances as students reflect on learning drama and cultural exposure.
