Hays County EDC directors form initial board in Kyle
The first gathering of Hays County Economic Development Council directors met in Kyle to organize a board. County Judge Eddy Etheredge chaired the caucus with appointees from cities schools and chambers. San Marcos CISD and Wimberley were represented. expansion to 15 and southeast county inclusion were discussed. The board scheduled a March 10 meeting to elect officers review bylaws and set committees. Jim Shaw of Pedernales Electric Coop spoke before adjournment.

Fugitives nabbed after unusual series of events
Three out-of-state fugitives were captured in the Wimberley area after a string of incidents. A stolen 1985 Mercedes from Naples was stopped on Ranch Road 12, and Allen Berry, 23, was arrested for theft. A 1982 Chevy pickup stolen from ELB Mechanical was traced to Schimmel, 21, who admitted involvement with Berry and another friend.

PEC board approved an $80,000 contract with Urban Electrical Services to upgrade Wimberley voltage capacity. Work starts within 30 days, routing from Ranch Road 12 to FM 3237 via Skyline Acres and Skyline Terrace. Completion in about 120 days with brief service interruptions.
