County plans rewrite of Hays Subdivision Ordinance

Suitors woo County over Juvenile Detention Center

Hays County commissioners reserve roughly 900000 in funds to build a Juvenile Detention Center but face political delays. Architects and consultants have lined up, yet conflicts across departments slow progress. A January presentation by Bonner and Associates questioned cost estimates as too high, with Judge Etheredge noting the discussion remains unsettled.
