Franklin honored with VFW Arena Gate at Wimberley
Wimberley residents and 4-H Youth Rodeo participants will unveil a gate memorializing Chester Franklin, the late community leader behind the arena dedication last November. Franklin, a lifelong volunteer and WWII veteran, helped organize the VFW Post 6441 and the annual Fourth of July Rodeo.

Morris finalist in PEC Youth Tour contest

Toll free calling proposed for Austin area access
Legislation in the Texas Senate and House would require telephone companies to offer local calling areas at least 22 miles from central offices, potentially allowing Wim berley customers to call Austin, San Marcos and nearby locales without long distance charges.
