Melissa Wimberley Cemetery History and Early Settlers
A historical survey details the Wimberley Cemetery on land once part of Amasa Turner’s 1847 1280 acre grant in Hays County. It covers early settlers, church school log cabin origins, the 1876 free school, the 1883 fire, land transfers to Dobie and Saunders families, and the burial of San Marcos founder William W. Moon and his descendants. It lists Civil War and World War I and II veterans buried there.
