Market Day on the Square Returns to Wimberley
The Wimberley Chamber of Commerce sponsors Market Day on the Square on Saturday June 1 1968 from eight in the morning to noon. Now in its fifth year the event is part of the Wimberley Summer Festival with markets set for July 6 August 3 and September 7. Visitors from miles around will browse unusual wares and sights.

Blue Hole Heirlooms and Family Ties at Cypress Creek
The Dobie family has owned the Blue Hole site along Cypress Creek for 39 years. Originating with John R. Dobie from Dumfries Scotland, the land passed to Jim Dobie in 1922 and evolved into a public swimming and picnic area after a 1928 road and facility setup. Today Aunt Daisey oversees with Johnny and Ann managing the site, attracting visitors to the blue water, camping, and picnicking as part of a local family legacy. A June 22 Tasting Fair in Fellows Hall celebrates the Wimberley Hill Country with salads and recipes, hosted by the Women’s Guild of the Chapel Hills.
