American Finfoot carries young in wing pockets
A researcher reports a rare Kangaroo bird, the American Finfoot, carries its young in skin pockets under each wing even during flight. Nesting in Chiapas, the male feeds chicks in the pockets while swimming, with females unlikely to care for them early. The species spans from Southern Mexico to Northeastern Argentina and was first found in 1933 by a German ornithologist in Brazil.
