Veterans of Foreign Wars Rodeo Plans Set for July 1972
At the May meeting VFW Post 6441 outlined a four day rodeo from July 1 to 4 1972 with larger prizes including silver and gold belt buckles for top cowboys and cowgirls. Special events include the USAF Drum and Bugle Corps and a Vietnam Korean and World War memorial. A trail ride is in planning led by Mrs. Alton Smithey and Lewis Hunnicutt with contact numbers 295-4851 and 847-2648. Ladies Auxiliary will run food service under Mrs. Juanita Goodman. Stock will be provided by Cecil Hill of Oak Hill with rough riding bulls expected.
