A July 1969 note describes a folk ritual: a maiden spreads white cloth under an oak at midnight on midsummer eve then gathers dust from blossoms to place under her pillow, promising her future husband will appear in dreams.
The Sites family of Wimberley began breeding registered Angora goats in 1935 and quickly rose to prominence at TAGRA shows in Rock Springs. From 1938 for 42 years they repeatedly earned top placements, winning at Dallas and San Antonio fairs for 16 straight years. In 1957 their ranch hosted a notable gathering of 75 goats showcased to buyers from South Africa.
