Col Payne Reports Wimberley Water Supply Sound

Col Jack Payne, manager of the Wimberley Water Supply Corporation, says the non profit system is financially sound with 224 customers. He notes high costs for rural water but stresses the need to serve area families and considers Amendment 4 crucial for tax free status to rural systems.

Market Day Set for August 30 in Wahrmund Jessee

The fourth and last Market Day of Summer 1969 is planned for Saturday August 30 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. It will be held just west of the Square under the big trees on the grounds of the Wimberley Restoration Association in Wahrmund Jessee. The prior Market Day on August 2 drew 100 exhibitors and many visitors from San Marcos.

Bookmobile visit to Wimberley on August 13 and 27

The Mid-Texas Bookmobile will park on the west side of the Square on Wednesday August 13 from 9 30 to 11 00. Over 800 books have already been checked out by local residents.

Ice Cream Social at Chapel-in-the-Hills

Saturday at 7:00 the Chapel-in-the-Hills lawn hosts an ice cream social offering homemade ice cream and sheet cakes for 25 cents. Guests enjoy lights tables and visiting as Mr. and Mrs. R B Meredith and Mr. and Mrs. R B Rainey host.
