Ranger probes narcotics officer amid evidence tampering claims

Texas Ranger Sgt. Gary De Los Santos investigates accusations that an undercover officer with the 81st Judicial District Narcotics Task Force tampered with and fabricated evidence from a May roundup of Wilson County drug suspects. The probe may involve 24 to 25 cases and could take months.

Residents push to change Floresville animal rules

Floresville residents urged the city council to amend the 1994 animal ordinance after a neighbor dispute over chickens led to a citation. No action was taken. In other business, aldermen approved FELPS rate changes adding about 2.08 per 1000 kWh and a 2.5 percent surcharge to all power used.
