Rainbow Days program to visit Floresville in July
The Brush Country Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse will bring Rainbow Days to Floresville in July after success in Pearsall. Sixty children ages 4 to 12 will participate in age based sessions July 4 to 6 for 4 6 year olds, July 11 to 13 for 7 9 year olds, and July 18 to 20 for 10 12 year olds. Fish Fry and Dixieland Jazz at Fashing UMC July 2
Fashing United Methodist Church hosts a free fish fry and Dixieland Jazz Band on Sunday July 2. Sunday school starts 9 a.m. worship at 9 45 a.m. the band performs during the service and outside after the fry which begins about 11 a.m. Roys Rig cooks the fish. Call 780 3824 for details.

Lawnmower Nationals Set for LV VFD Picnic
La Vernia fire chief Kip Workman announced the Summer Lawnmower Nationals will be July 2 at C of C Park as part of the annual LV VFD picnic. Races start 5:30 p.m. with four age classes from 11 to 73. Participants must wear helmets and use safety kill switches. Local sponsors include LaVernia Auto and Tire Eschenburg Hardware and John Deere. Call 253-8331 for details.
