Land outside town favored for hospital site by committee
A Wilson County advisory panel recommended undeveloped land just north of Floresville, near U S 181, as the best site for a new Wilson Memorial hospital. The committee ranked three tracts Herrera Hughes Wilson totaling 20.6 acres over the FEDC offer of 13.1 acres near the veterans home. A multistory facility would require about 10 acres and cost around 12 million dollars. the board will consider the committee’s choice and may reject the FEDC sale offer.
