Former Floresville Resident Returns Visit After 50 Years
Donald Skarke, 51, of Colorado Springs, visited Floresville on May 25, 1983, recalling the Skarke family bakery and cafe on C Street and Third and D Street. He describes memories of attending a Saturday matinee, bakery work routines, and delivering bread from the family bakery once run by his relatives Alfred Fritz Skarke Sr. and others. He biked 903 miles from Colorado to Floresville with his wife joining later by car.
