The Wilson Memorial Hospital Diabetic Support Group meets the second Tuesday monthly. The next meeting is at 7 p.m. Tuesday June 13 in the hospital conference room. A bingo game with diabetic supply prizes is planned.
The San Antonio Water System SAWS board adopted a 116.7 million fiscal year 2001 operating budget, down from 117.9 million, with a 1.2 million reduction in projected expenses and a staff cut of 40 positions. The move aims to curb a projected 15 percent or less water rate increase for next year while funding new programs and resource development.
Ten officers will be elected at American Legion Post 38 in Floresville on Thursday. A dinner starts at 7 p.m. followed by the meeting. All members urged to attend. For information call Phil Thurman at 830-216-2225.
