La Vernia Fire Chief Earns State Firefighter of the Year
La Vernia Fire Chief Kip Workman received the Texas Firemen's and Marshals' Association Firefighter of the Year award during the association's Galveston convention. He led the department for 11 years and helped establish nearby volunteer departments. The council also discussed SARA cleanup on Cibolo Creek and annexation plans for Wiseman property along U.S. 87.
