Town honors a good deed by five rescuers
Path police Chief Steve Gonzalez honored five residents at the July 21 meeting for working together to save a 14 year old boy who became trapped in a creek culvert after a July 8 flood. Rita Garcia noticed the boy and acted to keep him above water until help arrived. Bertha Hernandez joined the rescue effort. The council also voted to terminate a suspended officer, hired a warrant officer on contract, and began steps to acquire an abandoned railroad right of way along U.S. 181.
