Rails to trails plan faces landowner opposition in Wilson County
Wilson County landowners Edward Rocha and Andy McBride voiced concerns at a county meeting about rail to trails converting abandoned Union Pacific right of way into public hiking and biking routes. They fear public access would bisect private land near U.S. 181, FM 775, and CR 128, complicating private travel while supporters note multi-entity backing and ongoing condemnation in Floresville, with interest from the San Antonio River Authority for Elmendorf to Kenedy.
