Klein grass for improved pastures in warm climates
A guide to Klein grass, a perennial warm season bunchgrass from Africa. It grows 3 to 4 feet tall, stays green from spring to fall, and tolerates medium to heavy soils though struggles on deep sands. Planting requires a firm seedbed, March seeding window, and careful seeding or broadcast methods with two pounds per acre. Fertility and weed control boost yields, with typical production of three to four tons per acre.
