Poth Grain Mill Expands In South Texas to Ease Harvest Storage
Lyssy and Eckel Inc to add an eight million pound capacity flat warehouse with a wooden elevator at their Poth site. The new facility will store grain and act as fertilizer storage between harvests, reducing waste and extending storage space for Milo corn and wheat. The operation is a major south Texas granary, run by Curtis Lyssy Ronnie Eckel and Ernie Lyssy with a downtown feed store and office in Poth.

The 1981 Wilson County 4 H and FFA Livestock Show and Sale runs Thursday through Saturday at the Wilson County Showbarn two miles northeast of Eddy's Maytag Washesteria on Highway 97 LaVerne. Entries weigh and tag Thursday afternoon. Prizes and auction start Friday evening with 40 steers 43 hogs 18 lambs 16 pens of broilers and 4 baked goods. Nixon Livestock conducts the Junior Sale. sponsors include the Path Floresville Stockdale Chambers of Commerce VFW Post 8555 and Wilson County Farm Bureau.
