Floresville ISD board hails state rating and honors staff
Floresville ISD President Larry Jacobs led a recognition-filled board meeting moved to the elementary cafeteria. The discussion applauded teachers and administrators for the state rating, saluted Special Olympians, and noted enrollment of 3,361 across all grades. Business Manager Ken Barber reported tax collections of 4.31 million so far this year on a 7.94 million billed, a 54 percent rate, with delinquent taxes totaling 1.39 million dating to 1956. The board reviewed student of the month honorees Katrina Rios and Anthony Sears Jr, and heard a petition to drop the dress code tuck-in rule. It approved an interlocal agreement for the Wilson County Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program and held an executive session on possible land acquisition.
