Darla Novak a Floresville High School senior works afternoons at Baumann's Grocery and Market in Floresville after babysitting. She reports enjoying the job and plans to study in college while staying in Floresville with her parents Mr and Mrs Thomas Novak.

The La Vernia Lions Club donated 210 to Kerrville Camp for Crippled Children, 150 to San Antonio Christmas Pageant, and 200 to La Vernia Schools. President Otto Santos cites eyeglass and medical aid for children and plans continued park development in La Vernia.
Alisa Strey has served La Vernia as Miss La Vernia since last April. She has appeared in 16 state parades and will compete in the Miss South Texas Pageant in Seguin in July. Her last La Vernia stage appearance is planned for April 30 as she hands the crown to a new Miss La Vernia.
Deadline for Miss LaVernia Pageant entry is Friday February 18. Entrants must be at least 16 and a LaVernia junior. Applications available at LaVernia Schools A A Biglow Supermarket Koepp Chevrolet or The State Bank of La Vernia. Pageant on April 30 at La Vernia Schools.
