Christmas Cantata Brightens First Baptist Evening
A joint Baptist Methodist cantata at First Baptist Church on Sunday evening December 13 drew praise for inspirational music. Afterward three Stockdale women toured town to view holiday decorations and a new pastor Jeff Berger was noted for gaining 20 new members and strong rapport with children. A pink poinsettia with nearly 20 blooms drew attention. IRS 1099 forms arrive as 1999 nears and New Year resolutions are on minds.

It notes Ruth McBride Cowley seeking a Stockdale High reunion, vandal damage to the Community Building, impeachment hearings spurring teachers, Loretta Lynn at Abilene Christian University, and a holiday wish for peace.
