Local banks and government offices close for Christmas. The Bank of South Texas ends hours at 1 p.m. on Dec 24. Wilson County offices City Hall and Tax Office shut Dec 25–26. No garbage pickup on Dec 25. Post offices and library close Dec 25–28. News deadlines moved to Dec 26 at 10 a.m.
STOCKDALE The school tax office will close for Christmas holidays Dec 22 26 and Jan 1. It will be open 8 am to 3 30 pm on Dec 29 31 and Jan 2. Mail in payments will be credited for December if postmarked by Dec 31.
Curtis Ray represents the county with one vote while Erwin Wahl covers Floresville city and school district. Carl Zenner LaVernia Poth Stockdale and Ronald Bohmann Stockdale join others in seeking approval to relocate actions with Floresville LaVernia and Stockdale entities backing the move and Wilson County opposing. Local boards and councils are weighing in during mid December.
Falls City votes to hire an engineer to prepare technical road repair plans for about 13 or 14 streets and to study annexation near FM 791. The council also orders delinquent property tax collection review, seeks bids for paving and seal coating, and discusses razing the old water tower. Mayor Vi Malone and four council members attend. one member is absent.
