Narcotics Task Force rises in state ranking amid bust

In Pleasanton the 81st Judicial District Narcotics Task Force reported moving from 35th to fourth per officer for indictments from June 1996 to May 1997. Officers seized 139 pounds of marijuana on November 19 and arrested Rene Alvarado and Raymundo Bordayo near LaVernia as part of a trafficking investigation. Bordayo faced $75,000 cash bond. Alvarado posted $75,000. Street value of the seized marijuana estimated at $107,775. Federal funds risk cited if information systems aren’t adopted in 90 percent of counties, with 75 percent federal backing for hardware software and training.
