La Vernia PTO schedules a room mothers meeting for Thursday August 28 at 7 30 p m in the La Vernia High School library. Co chairwomen Bonnie Cervenka and Linda Hansen offer copies of new guidelines for those unable to attend.
The Sand Hill Trailriders invite participation in the padx annual Trailriders Reunion and Open Playday set for August 30 and 31 at the La Vernia Rodeo Arena. Books at 9:00 a.m. Show at 11:00 a.m. each day. High point awards in five age groups. First and second place tack. ribbons for third to sixth. Entry $3 per class. The Floresville Downtown Association met last week with business people and residents to plan local promotions. Goals include coordinated advertising, themed events around Halloween and Christmas, and improving Floresville with support from Main Street and the Chamber of Commerce.

The Black Hill Grange to sponsor a Homecoming and School Reunion for former residents, teachers, and students starting August 30 at the Community building. A 5 p.m. covered dish supper with tea and plates provided, inviting athletes and families to attend. Call 649 2201 for details.
The La Vernia Hermann Sons School of Dance will hold its annual meeting on Monday August 25 at the Hermann Sons Hall from 7:00 to about 8:30 p.m. Officers will be chosen and registration taken. Please attend.
