Torch Relay Arrives As Texans Welcome 93 Olympians
The 1993 US Olympic Festival torch will traverse Texas on a 41 day 4600 mile caravan visiting 59 communities beginning June 13 in Austin and ending July 23 in San Antonio. Floresville is slated for July 8 with the opening ceremonies at the Alamodome.

Wilson County Escapes Quake Felt in Atascosa County
An Atascosa County earthquake centered near Jourdanton measured 2.5 on the Richter scale but was not felt in Wilson County. Subdivisions Encino and Atascosa Estates reported the tremor at 8 59 p m Sunday August 9. A sheriff spokesman noted possible minor foundation damage and cattle reacted nervously. Authorities say damaging quakes in the San Antonio area are very remote, with similar events in 1986 and 1991 ranging 2.3 to 4.1.
