Historic Hill Country Flyer steam train excursion in Austin
The Austin Steam Train Association offers the Hill Country Flyer, a Mi kado type steam locomotive No 786 built in 1916. Departures at 2 pm or 4 pm on Aug 7 and the first Friday of each month from Fourth and Red River. Weekend routes include Cedar Park to Burnet and Cedar Park to Liberty Hill with live entertainment. Professor Katzenjammer Plans Cool Trek to Texas Folklife Festival
Former Karnes County Judge Robert Thonhoff as Professor Katzenjammer will attend the 27th annual Texas Folklife Festival at the Institute of Texan Cultures in HemisFair Park August 6 to 9. He previously sky dives and rides animals for stunts and this year skis from Karnes City to the Alamodome to reach festival grounds. Ticket prices are $8 for adults, $2 for 6 to 12 year olds, and free for under 5.
