Planners weigh reservoir option in South Texas water plan

South Central Texas Regional Water Planning Group reviewed consultants’ draft plan showing a possible new reservoir in Caldwell County. Public hearings set for Sept 25 26 and 27 in Victoria Uvalde and San Antonio. County clerks and a public library must hold the document 30 days before the hearings. Region L includes 20 and a half counties.

Region L weighs new water plan options near Lockhart

Region L board reviewed a draft regional water plan listing 16 water supply options for 2050 including the proposed Lockhart Reservoir on Plum Creek near Lockhart to yield 5 600 acre feet annually. Other options include Edwards Aquifer recharge and Carrizo Aquifer pumping with a mix of municipal and industrial uses.
