Elmendorf Officials Face First Court Appearance in Open Meetings Case
Elmendorf Mayor Sherry Pesia and six officials including council members Richard Ball Esperanza Sauceda Lester Walters former councilman Ruben Cruz and former police chief Paul Moreno appeared in the 379th District Court after being indicted by a Bexar County grand jury. Attorneys for Ball Sauceda Walters Cruz and the mayor argued the case should not go to trial and noted upfront legal fees already billed. Trial dates have not been set as defense teams review discovery and the state proceeds with the case.
