Falls City council to replace poles at baseball field
The Falls City council voted 5 0 to hire F W Electrical Contractors to replace damaged wooden light poles with metal towers at the city ball field. The plan calls for salvaged 90 foot towers anchored 15 feet into the ground to raise lights 75 feet with careful site work and about 900 per pole. The May 6 municipal election was canceled due to no opposition in three races. Incumbents Houdmann Swierc Mzyk faced no challengers. John Melton Jr. filed to replace Chester Mzyk.

FLORESVILLE The Community Council of South Central Texas Inc will hold a public meeting on May 4 at 11 a.m. at the Senior Citizens Center to elect one disadvantaged representative and one alternate for five years.
