Denver AP report says Marlon D. Green, a Black pilot, was offered a job by Continental Airlines becoming the first Negro pilot for a U.S. carrier. The offer followed a Supreme Court ruling allowing states to ban interstate carrier racial hiring. Green had left the Air Force in 1957 after airlines pledged to end discrimination. Copter Rescues Man from Tower in Newport
An Air Force helicopter from Wright Patterson Air Force Base rescued Curtis C. Marshall a 30 year old Indian painting firm worker from the top of a water tower in Fort Thomas Tuesday. Marshall suffered a compound fracture of his left wrist and was in good condition after surgery at St Luke Hospital. Investigators say a broken wire ladder rung caused his fall.
