Girl Kidnapped and Assaulted in Highland and Clinton Counties
An 18 year old Highland County girl and her 20 year old escort were abducted by a man at 2:30 am on Townsend Road near Lynchburg. The girl drove the suspect in a car after he forced the boy into the trunk. The car crashed, the boy escaped, and the girl was assaulted before being found later by a Warren County veterinarian. Police and FBI are investigating with local sheriffs.

Voters in Clinton and surrounding counties will decide Tuesday on a bond issue of 0.5 mill and a 1.0 mill operating levy to fund a joint vocational school serving nine districts including Clinton Massie East Clinton Fairfield Greenfield Hillsboro Lynchburg Clay Miami Trace Washington D H Wilmington. About 650 pupils would enter the first year, with capacity for 950, transport via home districts, and diplomas issued by home schools. If approved, the school could open in September 1970.
