First night in new Timber Lane home ends with tears
The first night at Dr and Mrs Foster J Boyd Jr on Timber Lane was unhappy for Cynthia Boyd the oldest child. The Boyd family moved Thursday from Highland addition to the new residence, and Cynthia cried missing her former playmates though Highland has many children nearby.

Eisenhower Leaves Walter Reed for Gettysburg Farm
President Eisenhower walked smilingly from Walter Reed Army Hospital today after a three week stay and headed for his Gettysburg farm to convalesce. Republican leaders assume he will stay in the race though no public statement has been made. The trip marks the 40th wedding anniversary for Eisenhower and Mrs. Eisenhower as Maj. Gen. Leonard D. Heaton and his wife join them. Heaton had operated on the President and says there is no medical reason he cannot continue as a candidate.

Lake Cowan improvements begin under Dennis aid
Clinton county representative Dennis released a letter from A W Marion director of Natural Resources detailing Lake Cowan capital projects funded by a 55000 appropriation. Grading for a 260 car parking area started this week and plans for a 200 gallon per minute filtration system a 33000 gallon reservoir and a bathhouse are approved with construction to start in August and finish by fall. Boat harbor work delayed due to spring rains and a potential injunction, to be carried out this fall. Two toilets are included in bathhouse plans and bids for masonry and concrete material are awarded. Labor bids will be advertised in July with construction starting in August. Marion says the work will be expedited despite summer public inconvenience.
