Name Change for Wilmington Church and New Officers
The Church of Christ of Wilmington has officially changed its name to The First Christian Church Disciples of Christ of Wilmington following a constitutional amendment. A parallel amendment updated the Articles of Consolidation. The congregation will be referred to as The First Christian Church of Wilmington. New officers were declared elected, led by Maynard Barton as chairman and Dr. Hugh S. Starr as vice chairman, with a full slate of deacons, deaconesses, and trustees announced after the June 17 congregational meeting.

Rites Set Wednesday for Mrs York in Blanchester
A Blanchester woman died in a Route 28 two car crash 1.8 miles west of Blanchester Saturday at 8 p m. Rosa Belle York 35 of Orchard Circle Blanchester died from a fractured neck and internal injuries. James Ballard 36 of Blanchester was treated for a fractured collar bone and abrasions. Harley L York 38 of Blanchester husband of the deceased received multiple contusions and rib injuries and was released. Ballard was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Mrs York had traveled from Indiana where her daughter Wilma May was married. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p m at Eichelberger Funeral Home Blanchester.
