Flood Strikes Denver Area in Worst Disaster in 30 Years
The flood rushed over Denver and southern communities leaving hundreds homeless and millions in damage. In Littleton two hundred house trailers were lost while power outages affected most of the city. One 69 year old man drowned after evacuation. Thousands evacuated in Littleton Englewood and Arapahoe County as crest levels reached about 15 feet above normal.
