President Eisenhower remains in satisfactory condition after a predawn operation to relieve an intestinal obstruction due to ileitis. Surgeons and doctors reported no heart involvement and noted the procedure lasted 1 hour 53 minutes starting at 2 59 a m. Dozens of physicians participated and Mrs. Eisenhower and Maj. John Eisenhower were at the hospital during the operation.

Baltimore Orioles announce a two day baseball tryout camp at J. W. Denver Williams Jr. Memorial Park in Wilmington on Friday and Saturday June 15 and 16. Big Pennington Bakery Destroyed in Early Fire
The Pennington Bros. Bakery on the city’s west edge burned out in the early hours, leaving only the walls standing on more than an acre. Fire Chief George Hall estimated damage at over half a million dollars. One casualty, Fireman Russell Whited, was treated for smoke inhalation and reported not seriously injured. Fire officials blamed an outbreak in the roof but had not determined a cause.

Car and Truck Collision Kills Lebanon Man at Locust Wayne
A Warren county man, Hayner Sargeant, 40, Lebanon RFD 1, died after a collision between a car and a truck at West Locust street and Wayne road Friday night. His passenger, Helen Ruth Christman, 31, Lebanon, was hospitalized with multiple lacerations. The truck driver, Joseph Simpson, 36, of Brooksville Ky., escaped injury. Coroner Dr John K Williams ruled death from a cerebral hemorrhage due to a skull fracture.

Man Rescues Family In Freak Mishap At Crossing
Port Clinton man saved his wife and three children from his car moments before a New York Central freight train struck the vehicle at Tettau Road crossing three miles west of town. The crash, caused when another car rear ended the Williams vehicle, left Mrs Williams bruised and Larry Williams with a concussion. Deputy Myron Hetrick said Stanley Swayne of Marion was jailed for reckless operation of an automobile.
