Junta Urges Elections In Dominican Republic Soon

The Dominican junta proposed elections supervised by the OAS be held soon in a divided nation. It said all democratic parties recognized by the Central Electoral Board may participate, including the exiled Dominican Revolutionary party of Juan Bosch, whose return as candidate remained unclear. General Antonio Imbert Barrera met with U S Ambassador Bennett and OAS head Mora to discuss the plan.

US Astronauts Ready Four Day Gemini 4 Flight

President Johnson says the United States seeks a broadly based Dominican government and will avoid a single military or political solution. East German Demo Damages U S Mission in Potsdam

U S officials expected to protest after anti American demonstrators damaged the U S military mission headquarters in Potsdam East Germany and torn down two American flags. About 300 demonstrators shouted against U S action in Vietnam as East German police watched with little action.

Gun-Packing Youth Held After Ohio Klan Rally

A Baltimore youth, Daniel N. Wagner, 19, was held for the Grand Jury on a concealed weapon charge after a Ku Klux Klan rally near Lebanon Ohio. He carried a .38 pistol in a shoulder holster. bond was reduced to 500 dollars. The Grand Jury will not meet until fall. Outside the court, Klan leader William H. Morris denied Wagner was a member.

Communist antiaircraft fire shot down two U S Navy planes during raids on North Viet Nam. A rescue pilot said the five Americans could not have survived. One plane crashed into the sea off the coast and another hit and crashed inland. US total dead in Viet Nam combat rose to 401.

A bipartisan Ohio Legislature delegation urged the National Academy of Sciences to locate a proposed Atomic Energy Commission national accelerator laboratory at the Ravenna Arsenal in Portage County. House Speaker Roger W. Cloud led Tuesday’s action. General Mills to open a Lancaster plant June 14, creating 250 jobs.

East Clinton District Formed By Clinton County Board Of Education

Clinton County Board of Education met in special session to consolidate Sabina and New Kenton districts into East Clinton.
